About Us

In 1973, the United States Supreme Court, decided that a mother may abort her pregnancy for any reason, up until the “point at which the fetus becomes viable.” Kathleen and Ron Nielsen both grew up in this post Roe vs. Wade era. Throughout their life they have both felt the negative effects of this ruling. Throughout the years, Ron and Kathleen have known people who have had to make a choice of life or abortion. These people came from all different walks of life. Some of these people were teens, other adults, and still some were married and with children. All those who choose life, even though sometimes hard, truly feel blessed that they chose to keep their child. Some of those chose adoption, and have the security to know that their child is being cared for and loved by parents who adopted their child. Yet, others chose abortion. Even though the procedure takes less than a hour, the effects of it can last a life time.

Interesting enough, the idea of Letters From the Womb, did not come from a story of someone who had to make the choice but from the result of someone whose mother chose life. A young college student wrote a letter to his mother realizing that it was the year in school she got pregnant with him. In the letter he thanked her for choosing him. He told her what a wonderful life he has had and that he now understands the difficulty of the choice and loves her immensely for making the choice of him. The story touched both Ron and Kathleen and inspired them to put together Letters From the Womb.

The goal of Letters From the Womb is to create a collection of letters from both men and woman describing their pregnancy choice and results of that choice. Also, the letters are from the child who was given life from a single teenager mother or given up for adoption. This website is intended to be the resource for compiling those letters. Letters From the Womb is hoping to publish the stories in a Letters From the Womb collection. All of the letter writers are 100% anonymous and very generous with their emotions. These stories are deep felt and gut wrenching. Some of the stories will make you cry for joy others will make you cry in heartbreak. Please submit your letter today and help others understand this life choice that has affected you.
